VGC Arbok

Arbok is a Pokémon introduced in Generation 1.

Arbok is solely reliant on its ability, Intimidate. While it has a decent-but-not-great attack stat of 95, its other stats unfortunately lag behind, having lackluster speed, defenses and HP. It's mostly usable as a status spreader, with Glare and Toxic. It could also use Acid Spray to lower the opponent's Special Defense harshly, and use one of the (Ice/Fire/Thunder) Fang moves as coverage; Ice is the most advicable, as it hits Ground types for super-effective damage; Alternatively, it could use a Coil set to increase its time on the field.

Arbok's Poison typing gives it a resistance to Bug, Grass and Fairy.

• +Arbok can guaranteed inflict Paralysis and Toxic statuses, as Toxic doesn't miss on Poison types and Glare has 100% accuracy.
• +Arbok's Intimidate allows it to support its team and increase its longetivity by reducing the damage of the opponent's physical attackers.
• +Arbok resists U-Turn, and Fairy-type moves.
• -Arbok's defensive profile causes it to be hard to keep in for long.
• -Arbok has lackluster Speed, and has a hard time dealing with Archaludon.
• -Its stats and movepool are overall somewhat lacking.
• -Arbok has a crippling weakness to Psychic.
