VGC Venusaur

Venusaur is a Pokémon introduced in Generation 1.

Venusaur mostly functions on Sun teams, due to its Hidden Ability, Chlorophyll. It can use Weather Ball, alongside Giga Drain if you intend to run Life Orb, Poison STAB for Pokémon like Clefable/Clefairy, Growth to double its Special Attack, and generally has a fine defensive typing.

Venusaur also has a valuable resistance against Archaludon's Electro Shot.

• +It can use the move Earth Power to inflict good damage against Pokémon like Incineroar.
• +It's typing allows it to not be slept by Breloom, Smeargle or Amoonguss.
• +Venusaur keeps its Growth boosts after Sun ends.
• +It has a valuable resistance to Volt Switch, and is hit neutrally by U-Turn, unlike most other Chlorophyll Pokémon..
• -Due to it needing sun to be up, it's vulnerable to opposing Fire type Pokémon.
• -Haze can shut Venusaur down, and Icy Wind can cause Venusaur to be slowed down and chipped.
• -Venusaur relies on sun being up to be faster than most other Pokémon and to successfully set up.
