VGC Pachirisu

Pachirisu is a Pokémon introduced in Generation 4.

While being the centerpoint of attention after winning VGC 2014, Pachirisu has been outclassed severely. As a Follow Me user, it's gotten outclassed by Clefairy and Clefable, alongside Indeedee. It does not have the speed nor offenses to pick up KO's on its own. Luckily, not all hope is lost for Pachirisu; Pachirisu's defenses are fairly decent, even if backed by a poor HP stat of 60. Pachirisu can use Volt Absorb to heal up potential electric attacks directed at its allies, and is the only Volt Absorb Pokémon to have Follow Me. This can work well in favor of electric-weak Pokémon like Pelipper, Palafin or Dondozo. It can also use Helping Hand to allow its allies to deal more damage. It can hold a Sitrus Berry to recover HP, as Leftovers do not provide enough recovery for it to survive long enough. Pachirisu can use Nuzzle to paralyze its opponents and deal a little damage, breaking potential Focus Sashes.

Pachirisu's ability, Volt Absorb gives it a immunity to Electric and immediate healing, while also being only weak to Ground.

• +Pachirisu's decent support movepool.
• +Volt Absorb, in combination with Follow Me, can let it get recovery on switch-ins, and forces opponents to use non-electric moves.
• +Pachirisu is immune to Volt Switch and Thunder Wave, and can dish out Paralysis with Nuzzle.
• -Pachirisu has little HP, which leaves it vulnerable to even neutral attacks.
• -Its stats and movepool are overall somewhat lacking outside of the tools it likes.
• -Pachirisu's offenses leave many, many things to be desired, as both its offensive stats are only 45.
• -Pachirisu cannot put any pressure on the opponent, other than forcing them to not use Electric-type moves.
